HD
HD = hip dysplasia Hereditary disease, which is transmitted polygen. The diagnostic of HD can only be done by x-ray which will be analysed for the St. Bernard Club in the University Clinic Gießen. HD is seperated in HD-0 (free), HD-1 (borderline case), HD-2 (easy), HD-3 (medium) and HD-4 (heavy). For the dogs which will be in the breeding the x-ray of HD is obligation. To fight against the hereditary disease HD it is only allowed to take dogs with max. HD-2 for breeding. A distinctive correction was achieved because of this provision. |
